Our Story
Travois Vans is more than a business; it’s a family legacy born from a father’s dream. Inspired by his desire to share the magic of camping with his children, he recognized after many family trips that traditional RVs often included unnecessary “bells and whistles.” This realization sparked a vision to reimagine camping adventures by crafting a van that prioritizes safety while adapting to the evolving needs of a growing family. Thus, the Travois van was born.

Designed for versatility, a Travois van can seamlessly shift between configurations, serving not just as a camper, but also as a daily driver, a moving vehicle, or anything else you might need. The lightweight components make it incredibly simple to add or remove features, enabling the van to go from fully converted to completely empty in just 45 minutes. Our Milestones
In the dynamic world of automotive ingenuity, Travois Vans emerged as a beacon of innovation, blending European elegance with Canadian resilience. Boasting over three decades of unparalleled German automotive expertise, Travois introduced North America to the epitome of comfort and versatility with its pioneering 3-point shoulder seat beds and swivels. Their acquisition of one of Canada’s premier 4×4 Sprinters low roofs showcased not just vehicles, but a dedication to safety and innovation.
Pushing the boundaries further, they transformed a Metris van into a luxurious adventure vehicle, complete with a pre B-pillar pop-top roof system, emphasizing safety without compromising style. Firmly established as a trailblazer, they unveiled the inaugural Weekender series, inviting adventurers to embark on journeys atop the sturdy foundation of the Sprinter 4×4.
With each passing year, regulatory acclaim followed, earning Transport Canada’s National Safety Mark and joining esteemed associations like the RV Industry Association (RVIA) and NTEA – The Work Truck Association. New heights were reached as they became a member of the Mercedes-Benz eXpert Solutions Upfitter program and introduced Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) tested insulated floor and seat-bed systems, ensuring safety remained paramount throughout every expedition.
Continuing their legacy of innovation, the Conestoga Camper series brought bespoke layouts to life, blending adventure with luxury. Compassion was showcased by crafting COVID-19 response units and venturing into new markets, building search and rescue units and rental vans for the European market.
Stepping into the spotlight, they joined Mercedes Benz’s ambassador program and unveiled the Van Equipped product line, tailored for North American adventurers. Research and development initiatives with OEM manufacturers signaled a commitment to shaping the future of mobility.
Embracing a new partnership with Commercial Van Solutions, they embarked on a journey to produce the first production series of Travois vans, featuring exclusive safety features. With the promise of electric mobility on the horizon, they stand as a testament to perseverance and innovation, poised to lead the way into a future of limitless possibilities.
